Why are we different?
The A+ Music Academy’s close association with A+ Prep School is able to offer top notch music instruction in an academic environment. Our multi-purpose facility will enable our music faculty to host on-site recitals and other musical presentations.
Mission Statement:
The mission of the A+ Music Academy is to provide outstanding music instruction in a personalized learning environment and to establish a foundation for life-long growth in music while enhancing the quality of our community’s musical life.
Strings
Each student will be given a ½ hour private session, with parents more than welcome to attend. This involvement will allow parents to help reinforce skills and practice habits learned during the lesson time. The A+ Music Academy's Strings program is under the direction of Jo Wallace-Abbie, a music educator with 29 years of teaching experience . She has trained and conducted top award winning orchestras in the Dallas and Plano School Districts and holds a B.M.E. from the University of Kentucky and Master of Science degree from the University of Illinois.
Ms. Jo Wallace-Abbie has served as an adjudicator and clinician at all city and region events in Texas and Oklahoma . A member of the Richardson Symphony Orchestra, Wichita Falls Symphony, TMEA, TODA and ASTA , she frequently free-lances on violin and viola in the Dallas area.
Ms. Wallace-Abbie is currently the Orchestra director at Plano West Senior High School, which opened in the fall of 1999,and was named String Honor Orchestra of the state of Texas in 2002 , 2004 and 2006.
A+ is proud to announce that Mr. Schnitzer began teaching at A+ in April 2007.
